Panamericano es una figura con nombre propio dentro del forró más que un estilo de baile independiente, y en el material didáctico se describe como un movimiento de pareja construido en torno a la apertura de espacio, el desplazamiento o giro hacia afuera, y un regreso al marcado.[1] El líder libera el abrazo cerrado, orientado al pecho, lo suficiente como para crear una apertura lateral, manteniendo al mismo tiempo una conexión de manos receptiva, a menudo llamada mano viva, de modo que la invitación se mantenga continua en lugar de lanzada.[2] El seguidor acepta el espacio abierto alejándose del centro compartido, girando por etapas según lo indicado, para luego recogerse de nuevo hacia el líder en el marcado de cierre; las descripciones de la figura hacen hincapié en ceder y ocupar el espacio entre los integrantes de la pareja.[3] Su tiempo musical no es un conteo de tiempos al estilo de la salsa, sino una frase de forró sobre el pulso binario constante de la música, y parte del material de enseñanza describe cinco pasos pequeños de marcado para terminar el movimiento.[1] La figura pertenece a una cultura de baile arraigada en el nordeste de Brasil que después se difundió por todo Brasil y hacia las escenas internacionales de forró, especialmente en Europa.[4]

Keep the forró marking pulse under the body and respond to the opened side path by moving outward through the space offered by the leader. Let the turn happen progressively through the connection, then return toward the leader without collapsing the arm or rushing the final marking steps.

- Letting the follower travel too far from the shared axis, making the return and five-step close late.
- Dropping the marking pulse while concentrating on the outward turn.
- Re-closing the embrace before the follower has completed the outward-and-return pathway.
