La Foto es una llamada de rueda de casino en la que cada pareja detiene brevemente el patrón circulante de pareja para formar una pose semejante a una fotografía antes de volver al flujo de la rueda. La rueda se baila con parejas dispuestas en un círculo, con un cantor que nombra figuras que las parejas ejecutan juntas[1]; La Foto pertenece a ese vocabulario de llamada y respuesta más que a la gramática de posiciones fijas de la salsa de Nueva York o Los Ángeles. En una versión base conservadora, el líder abre la pareja desde guapea, redirige a la seguidora a su lado o ligeramente delante de él, y da forma a un breve punto inmóvil; la seguidora mantiene su propia acción de break, luego permite que la guía coloque y libere el marco sin añadir un giro independiente. La figura normalmente se frasea a lo largo de una unidad de dos compases de salsa, con un break en cada compás y la pose resolviéndose a tiempo para la siguiente llamada. La rueda de casino se desarrolló en entornos de clubes sociales de La Habana y más tarde se difundió por Miami y otras escenas internacionales[2], por lo que La Foto puede aparecer bajo la misma llamada en español en grupos de rueda de orientación cubana y con influencia de Miami, mientras que las escenas de salsa que no son de rueda por lo general no la tratan como una figura estándar de baile en pareja.

From guapea, maintain the leader's own break action on 1 and 5. On 1-2-3, open the frame and prepare the follower without pulling her across the circle. On 5-6-7, place the couple into a compact picture shape beside or slightly offset from each other, using a small staged reorientation rather than a spin: approximately a quarter turn into the pose, then a quarter turn or less to square the frame for release. Resume guapea or the caller's next figure on the following 1.
Seguidor
From guapea, keep the follower's own break action on 1 and 5, mirroring the leader on the opposite foot. On 1-2-3, respond to the opened frame without initiating a forward slot walk. On 5-6-7, allow the lead to settle the body into the picture shape beside or slightly in front of the leader, with any reorientation split into small stages rather than a single turn. Exit on the following 1 into guapea or the next called figure.

Ten cuidado
Errores comunes
- Treating the call as a free spin instead of a short posed check.
- Breaking on opposite directions rather than opposite feet, which collapses the mirror action.
- Holding the pose past the next count 1 and missing the following rueda call.
- Using a slot-based cross-body pathway; La Foto is a rueda pose figure, not a linear salsa travelling figure.
- Over-rotating the follower into a full turn when the base figure only needs a small staged reorientation into and out of the picture shape.
