Policia es una figura de la rueda de casino: la ejecutan todas las parejas en círculo después de que un cantante anuncia el movimiento, dentro de la estructura compartida de llamado y respuesta de la rueda.[1] En su forma habitual dentro del casino, el líder abre la conexión desde guapea, redirige al seguidor mediante un cambio de orientación similar al enchufla, y brevemente coloca o guía el brazo del seguidor hacia una forma doblada, detrás de la espalda, de "arresto", antes de soltarlo y volver al flujo continuo de pareja de la rueda. La figura conserva el pulso de salsa de dos compases del casino: cada bailador rompe una vez por compás, y luego usa los tiempos restantes para la rotación, el desplazamiento y el reacomodo de frente, en lugar de añadir rupturas adicionales. Su nombre proviene de la palabra española "policía", pero el llamado funciona como el nombre de un movimiento, no como una categoría traducida de forma literal. Las figuras de rueda varían según la localidad y el linaje de instructores,[2] y la transmisión a través de Miami ayudó a llevar el vocabulario cubano de la rueda hacia las escenas de Estados Unidos e internacionales.[3] Por lo tanto, es mejor considerar a Policia como un llamado de rueda documentado cuya estilización exacta de manos puede variar entre círculos, mientras que el motivo reconocible del arresto sigue siendo el rasgo identificador.

Líder
From guapea on On1, the leader breaks back on left on 1, replaces on 2, and preps an enchufla-style opening on 3. On 5, the leader breaks back on right while maintaining a light left-to-right connection, then redirects the follower through roughly a quarter turn; on 6-7 he shapes the follower’s connected arm into a controlled bent, behind-the-back position and reorients the couple to continue the rueda. Rotation is staged as about 90 degrees into the figure, then another 90 degrees to re-face or redirect, for roughly 180 degrees of usable reorientation rather than a single whip.
Seguidor
From guapea on On1, the follower breaks back on right on 1, replaces on 2, and responds to the opening on 3 without stepping forward early. On 5, the follower breaks back on left, then travels and turns on 6-7 as led, allowing the connected arm to fold behind the back only within comfortable shoulder range. The follower turns in stages: first about 90 degrees into the changing orientation, then about 90 degrees more to settle into the release or next rueda pathway.

Errores comunes
- Forcing the follower’s arm behind the back instead of shaping it within natural shoulder rotation.
- Starting the follower forward on count 1 rather than keeping the first measure as the normal back break and preparation.
- Treating the figure as a single terminal spin instead of staging the reorientation across entry and exit points.
- Holding the arrest position too long, which blocks the next rueda call or partner change.
- Under-rotating the couple so the release does not face the next usable rueda pathway.
