Assalto es una figura de pareja del Samba de Gafieira, generalmente enseñada como parte del vocabulario de nivel principiante a intermedio, más que como una invención de atribución histórica.[1] Comúnmente comienza desde una acción básica o desde una salida lateral, tras lo cual el líder redirige a la seguidora a través de una trayectoria curva con cambios de orientación y de peso, a menudo asistiendo el giro con la mano conectada.[2] La acción de la seguidora no es una zancada en el tiempo uno hacia el líder; es un giro desplazado y redondeado que se prepara, se inicia, se rota y se recoge nuevamente a lo largo de la frase, mientras el líder mantiene el marco suficiente para indicar la dirección sin sacar el torso de su eje. En términos de fases, la seguidora primero se reorienta hacia la trayectoria, luego continúa la rotación redondeada a través de los tiempos intermedios y, finalmente, regresa a mirar de frente al líder mientras la pareja concluye la figura. La figura pertenece al Samba de Gafieira, una tradición brasileña de samba en pareja cuyo estilo general se describe como una combinación de raíces afrobrasileñas con influencia europea del baile en pareja.[3] Algunas fuentes de enseñanza contemporáneas también identifican este mismo movimiento como Bailarina, lo que refleja una variante del nombre vinculada al giro redondeado con aire de bailarina de la seguidora.[4]

Through the middle counts, the leader tracks beside or slightly around the follower while maintaining the hand as a guide, allowing the follower's rounded turn to develop. On the exit counts, the leader completes the couple's re-facing action, collecting weight and frame so both partners return to a usable closed or open-position relationship.
Seguidor
The follower keeps the basic samba pulse and waits for the lead to redirect the pathway. On the entry counts, the follower changes facing into the curved route rather than diving forward. Through the middle counts, the follower travels through a rounded turn with continuous weight transfer and a controlled axis. On the exit counts, the follower completes the final reorientation to face the leader again and settles the weight without adding an extra spin.
