Inclinación y pivote es una figura asistida de bachata en la que la pareja crea una inclinación diagonal moderada, luego gira en conjunto antes de volver a la posición básica erguida. Las acciones de inclinación se volvieron más visibles en la bachata a través de los vocabularios posteriores de bachata sensual e influencia del baile de salón, más que a través del antiguo básico social dominicano por sí solo.[1] El líder establece un marco estable, mantiene el peso de la seguidora sobre su propio pie de apoyo, y usa el lado conectado del marco para invitar a una pequeña forma fuera de eje; el pivote entonces gira a la pareja por etapas, comúnmente alrededor de un cuarto de vuelta durante la entrada de la inclinación y otro cuarto de vuelta durante la recuperación, para un total de aproximadamente media vuelta cuando se desarrolla por completo. La seguidora mantiene tono en las costillas y la espalda, evita colapsar hacia el brazo del líder, y deja que el pivote surja del marco compartido y del pie de apoyo, en lugar del cuello o el hombro. La figura se ajusta a la estructura de frase de cuatro tiempos de la bachata, cuyo básico social se organiza comúnmente en torno a tres cambios de peso y un toque o acento en el cuarto tiempo.[2] Su circulación contemporánea es más fuerte en las escenas de bachata sensual y moderna, que ampliaron la bachata con material en posición abierta, aislamientos y movimiento corporal guiado.[3]

Begin from a stable closed or close open hold. On 1-2-3, mark the bachata side action and prepare the frame without pulling. On 4, settle the follower into a small supported diagonal lean while keeping her weight on her own standing foot. On 5-6, pivot the partnership through the first stage, about 90 degrees if space allows. On 7, complete the second stage toward roughly 180 degrees total, and on 8 return both bodies upright with a tap or held accent.

Seguidor

Maintain tone through the center and keep the head aligned with the spine. On 1-2-3, follow the side action and do not anticipate the lean. On 4, allow a modest diagonal shape while staying over the standing foot rather than hanging from the leader. On 5-6, step the pivot under the body as the frame rotates about 90 degrees. On 7, finish the second stage toward roughly 180 degrees total, and on 8 recover upright with the tap or accent.

Errores comunes

  • Dropping the follower into a dip instead of creating a small supported lean.
  • Using the arm or shoulder to pull the lean rather than preparing it through the frame and center.
  • Letting the follower’s weight leave her own standing foot.
  • Pivoting as one abrupt twist instead of splitting the rotation into entry and recovery stages.
  • Overdeveloping the lean at fast tempos, which makes the recovery late on 8.
