On counts 3-4, invite the follower inward with a compact forward intention through the frame, receiving her back into close distance. Repeat or exit into the basic without changing tempo.

From close embrace, keep the same grounded pulse and mirror the leader's weight changes. On counts 1-2, allow the small opening while staying connected through the frame. On counts 3-4, travel a short step toward the leader's center as invited, then settle back into close-embrace basic timing without anticipating a large turn or dip.
