Secador es una llamada de rueda de casino más que una figura de salsa lineal (tipo "slot"): pertenece a un formato en el que las parejas bailan en círculo mientras un cantante (o llamador) nombra patrones sincronizados para el grupo.[1] El movimiento normalmente comienza desde guapea con una entrada de giro a la izquierda de tipo enchufla para el/la seguidor/a; el líder levanta la mano tomada, hace girar al/a la seguidor/a en sentido antihorario, y luego pasa la mano libre o la mano tomada por encima de la cabeza del/de la seguidor/a, evocando la imagen cómica de un secador de pelo, antes de resolver de vuelta hacia la rueda. Las figuras de rueda varían según el grupo y el país, por lo que es mejor entender Secador como una llamada con nombre propio sujeta a variantes locales de ejecución, y no como un elemento fijo y universal del temario.[2] Su ritmo sigue el fraseo de dos compases propio de la salsa del casino: en un conteo On1, la pareja rompe una vez en el primer compás y una vez en el segundo, con el giro de desplazamiento y la estilización distribuidos entre el 1-2-3 y el 5-6-7, en lugar de forzarse en un solo giro. La figura está históricamente vinculada a la práctica de la rueda cubana, cuya expansión moderna suele rastrearse desde el baile social habanero hacia escenas más amplias de rueda en Cuba, en Miami y a nivel internacional.[3]

On1 casino phrasing: from guapea, the follower breaks back on right on 1, replaces on 2, and turns left/counter-clockwise under the raised connection on 3, reorienting about a quarter to half turn as the path opens. On 5-6-7 the follower completes the remaining reorientation needed to face the leader again, keeps steps compact under the body, and returns to the rueda rhythm for the next call.

- Losing the second-measure break on 5 while concentrating on the styling gesture.
- Stopping the follower short of re-facing the leader before the rueda's next call.
