Fly complicado se trata en la enseñanza del casino cubano como una variación con nombre propio más que como un estilo de baile social independiente: pertenece a la familia del casino asociada con el baile social habanero de mediados del siglo XX y con la práctica posterior de la rueda.[1] La figura es un patrón de pareja a dos manos que parte de una entrada de Fly, para luego volverse “complicado” mediante la adición de cambios de mano, un breve enrosque o momento de brazos cruzados, y un desenrosque controlado de regreso a la posición abierta de frente. En el conteo común de casino On1, ambos integrantes de la pareja mantienen la estructura básica de un quiebre por compás: el líder atrás con la izquierda y el/la seguidor/a atrás con la derecha en el 1, y luego el líder atrás con la derecha y el/la seguidor/a atrás con la izquierda en el 5. El presupuesto de giro se administra por etapas en lugar de ejecutarse de golpe: al/a la seguidor/a se le redirige aproximadamente un cuarto de giro hacia la acción de cruce, atraviesa el espacio que abre el líder, y luego se desenrosca en compases posteriores para volver a quedar de frente, mientras el líder rota lo suficiente como para mantener la pareja circular propia del casino. La transmisión a través de escuelas en línea y tutoriales es una vía importante por la que estas figuras de casino con nombre propio circulan fuera de Cuba, lo cual ayuda a explicar por qué el nombre de la llamada suele conservarse sin cambios de una escena a otra.[2]

On 5-6-7, the leader breaks back on right, redirects the follower through the opened space, and starts the crossed-hand or wrap action. On the next 1-2-3, the leader changes or threads hands while rotating only enough to stay aligned with the follower. On the next 5-6-7, the leader unwinds the follower and returns to open facing position, completing the staged rotation rather than stopping short.
Seguidor
On 1-2-3, the follower breaks back on right, maintains tone in both hands, and waits for the Fly opening before travelling. On 5-6-7, the follower breaks back on left, then travels through the opened space as redirected, reorienting about a quarter turn into the action. On the next 1-2-3, the follower allows the hand change or wrap while continuing the casino walking rhythm. On the next 5-6-7, the follower unwinds in the indicated direction and re-faces the leader, with the total reorientation split across the entry and exit rather than made as one late spin.
