Tarraxinha é uma dança de casal lenta e fundamentada e o gênero musical de mesmo nome, ambos enraizados na província de Benguela, em Angola.[1][2] Dançada quase inteiramente no lugar em um abraço fechado, ela deixa de lado os passos itinerantes da kizomba em favor de finos isolamentos corporais: o líder dirige o seguidor através de uma pressão sutil no peito, torso e na mão de apoio nas costas dela, e ela responde com movimento controlado dos quadris, pelve e caixa torácica em vez de passos de pés. O peso permanece baixo e assentado no chão; ambos os parceiros mantêm os pés amplamente plantados enquanto a conexão impulsiona pequenas rotações, movimentos de quadril em forma de oito e pausas sustentadas. A música é lenta e fortemente sincopada, de modo que os dançarinos interpretam acentos e silêncios ao invés de marcar um passo básico recorrente. Desde sua origem a forma foi criticada como excessivamente sensual.[2] Na prática mais recente muitos dançarinos de tarraxinha têm se inclinado a estilos como Ghetto-Zouk, e a forma permanece, junto à kizomba, entre as influências principais do Urban Kiz.[2]

Keep weight low and settled into the floor with feet largely planted; receive the lead through the chest and back contact and translate it into hip, pelvic, and ribcage isolations — small rotations, figure-eights, and body rolls — matching the leader's held pauses. Do not add independent travel or anticipate the movement.
Tempo da músicaSlow, heavily syncopated tarraxinha and Ghetto-Zouk tracks — roughly 70-100 bpm in a typical slow kizomba feel, where long pauses and accents reward body isolation over continuous stepping. Faster, more driving kizomba or semba tempos call for the travelling kizomba walk instead, not tarraxinha.
